Pop Up North West Words in July and August

Posted on Aug 8, 2017

North West Words had two summer invitations to go on tour this year – we are usually located once a month in Florence Food Co. Letterkenny. Our first invitation was from Dundalk Writers’ Group, and the second from Rathmullan Community Festival. Both events were thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you to both groups for including us in your programmes.

Dundalk Writers’ Group describe themselves as ‘… a group of aspiring writers and poets who meet bi-monthly to share their work in a supportive environment. From time to time we also publish and organise events.  We always welcome new members so please get in touch with us if you are interested in joining us.” They have a Facebook site at

The group invited NWW to read at a wonderful summer event and picnic at Anaverna House near Dundalk on Saturday 22nd July. Poets Deirdre Hines, Nick Griffiths and Guy Stephenson all read at the event. Photos below of a really enjoyable day.

On Friday 04th August, NWW were delighted to be featured in the Rathmullan Community Festival – readings by the seaside. Poets, Maureen Curran and Nick Griffith, and short story writer, Deirdre McClay, read in An Bonnan Bui, Rathmullan. The audience were both locals and visitors and we had to keep bringing more seats – great support – another very enjoyable event.
