Welcome to the North West Words website. North West Words is a monthly reading series in Donegal. Events are on the last Thursday of each month in Florence Food Co. 63 Main Street, Letterkenny. See our Facebook page or News for further details. We also run poetry competitions, a community poetry initiative called Poetry for Spaces, and an online magazine.

Winner of the North West Words and Donegal Creameries Poetry Competition 2016

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the North West Words and Donegal Creameries Poetry Competition 2016 (English language poetry) is Michael Farry, Co. Meath. Michael attended our award ceremony last night and read his prize-winning poem: Primary School Sixth Class June 1961. He received a cheque for €250, and the Perpetual  Cup, both sponsored by Donegal Creameries.

North West Words and Donegal Creameries/Aurivo Poetry Competition 2016. We are pleased to announce the shortlist and longlist from our English language poetry competition: judge Kate Newmann.
